Friday, May 2, 2025 - Actor and comedian Russell Brand has arrived at court where he faces charges of r@pe and s£xual assault.
Brand was accompanied by his solicitor, Oliver
Schneider-Sikorsky, who successfully defended Kevin Spacey against s£x assault
allegations in 2023, as they arrived at Westminster Magistrates Court ahead of
his appearance this morning.
Earlier this month, the Metropolitan Police charged Brand, who
lives in Florida, by post with one count each of r@pe, indecent assault
and oral r@pe, as well as two counts of s£xual assault, relating to four
different women, and issued a court summons.
Brand, known for his stand-up comedy acts and his film role in
"Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” was accused of multiple s£x offences and
emotional abuse by several women in a joint investigation by The Sunday Times,
The Times, and Channel 4 Dispatches in September 2023.
The alleged incidents took place between 1999 and 2005. Following the
charges, Brand released a video to deny any wrongdoing.
Brand responded to the charges on social media last month, saying,
"I've always told you guys that when I was young and single, before I had
my wife and family ... I was a fool, man, I was a fool before I lived in the
light of the Lord. I was a drug addict, a s£x addict and an imbecile. But what
I never was, was a rapist. I've never engaged in nonconsensual activity. I pray
that you can see that by looking in my eyes."
He then thanked his supporters, adding that he is "incredibly
grateful" to defend the charges in court.
