Kenya’s SABASTIAN SAWE makes history after finishing London marathon in under 2 hours




Monday, April 27, 2026 -Kenyan Sabastian Sawe made sports history on April 26 at the London Marathon by becoming the first person to run a marathon in under two hours officially. In a moment previously considered almost impossible, Sawe won the race and shattered the men’s world record by 65 seconds, finishing with an incredible time of 1 hour, 59 minutes, and 30 seconds.

The 31-year-old title-holder emphasized that his incredible achievement was a collective one, stating, “What comes today is not for me alone, but for all of us today in London.”

Sawe’s race was thrilling to watch, as the runner picked up the pace throughout the event. He finished the final half of the marathon in a fast 59 minutes and 1 second.
