Ukraine and Poland push diplomatic reset amid rising Russian hybrid threats

Friday, June 3, 2026- Ukraine and Poland are working to reset diplomatic relations following recent strains, with both governments emphasizing the need for unity as Russia’s hybrid warfare tactics intensify across Eastern Europe.

High-level meetings in Warsaw have focused on rebuilding trust while addressing sensitive historical and political disagreements that have recently resurfaced between the two allies.

Officials from both sides are also aligning their strategies against what they describe as a growing wave of hybrid threats from Russia, including cyberattacks, disinformation campaigns, and sabotage operations targeting critical infrastructure.

Polish security authorities have warned that these tactics are designed to exploit divisions between Kyiv and Warsaw while weakening broader NATO and EU cohesion.

Despite tensions, both countries are signaling a clear strategic priority: maintaining cooperation on security and defense.

Ukraine continues to rely heavily on Polish logistical and military support, while Poland views Ukraine as a key buffer in its broader eastern defense strategy. The renewed diplomatic engagement underscores a shared urgency containing hybrid threats before they escalate further into direct regional instability.
