Venezuela earthquake death toll rises to 2,645

Friday, June 3, 2026- The death toll from the devastating twin earthquakes in Venezuela has risen to 2,645, according to the country’s Ministry of Information, as rescue and recovery operations continue across heavily affected regions.

Authorities confirmed that thousands more people remain injured, while emergency teams are still working through collapsed structures in search of survivors.

The disaster has left widespread destruction across urban and coastal areas, with entire communities displaced and critical infrastructure severely damaged.

Reports indicate that hundreds of buildings have collapsed or been left structurally unsafe, forcing tens of thousands of residents into temporary shelters as aid efforts struggle to meet urgent needs. International assistance has begun to arrive, but logistical challenges and overwhelmed local services continue to slow relief operations.

As the scale of the catastrophe becomes clearer, pressure is mounting on authorities to accelerate recovery efforts and expand humanitarian support.

Aid agencies warn that the situation could worsen in the coming days due to shortages of medical supplies, shelter, and clean water. With aftershocks still being reported, emergency teams remain on high alert as Venezuela enters a critical phase of response and rebuilding.
