KOBE BRYANT's widow VANESSA shares touching tribute on what would've been his 48th birthday

Sunday, August 23, 2026 - Vanessa Bryant has paid an emotional tribute to her late husband, Kobe Bryant, on what would have been the basketball legend’s 48th birthday.

On Sunday, August 23, Vanessa shared a throwback photo of the couple laughing together and kept her message simple: “Happy birthday, baby. I love you so much.” The intimate post quickly drew an outpouring of love from fans, celebrities and sports figures.

Kobe’s birthday came more than six years after he died in a helicopter crash in January 2020 alongside his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and seven others.

The Los Angeles Lakers also honored their franchise icon throughout the day, highlighting his unforgettable career and the words that continue to define his legacy. Kobe spent his entire 20-year NBA career with the Lakers, winning five championships and earning 18 All-Star selections.

Vanessa’s tribute has once again reminded fans that Kobe’s impact reaches far beyond basketball.

His birthday also comes just one day before August 24, a date closely connected to the two jersey numbers he wore during his Lakers career. As tributes continue to pour in, Vanessa’s quiet message stands out for its simplicity—and for the enduring love it reflects more than six years after his death.
