Friday, October 2, 2026 - Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer have officially finalized their divorce nearly a decade after announcing their separation.
The former couple were legally declared single on September 21, with the judgment formally ending their marital status. The ruling was filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court on October 1, bringing a long-running divorce process to a major conclusion.
Maguire, 51, and Meyer, 49, married in September 2007 and welcomed two children, daughter Ruby and son Otis, before announcing their separation in 2016. Meyer filed for divorce in 2020, while Maguire filed his response in 2025.
Although their marriage has now legally ended, some financial and other matters remain unresolved and will be handled through a private judge.
Despite the lengthy legal process, Meyer has previously spoken warmly about her relationship with Maguire since their split, describing him as her best friend and praising their approach to co-parenting.
Meyer is now engaged to Geoff Ogunlesi, with whom she welcomed a daughter in May 2026, while Maguire has largely kept his personal life private. The latest court ruling closes one chapter for the former couple while leaving their family relationship intact.
