Wednesday, August 19, 2026 - “Bachelor in Paradise” alum Joe Amabile is giving fans an encouraging update after undergoing surgery to remove a brain tumor.
The 40-year-old reality star said his recovery has been better than expected and that doctors successfully removed the tumor. Amabile was initially diagnosed with an early-stage glioma after a full-body MRI discovered a small lesion in his brain.
Amabile has since revealed that testing identified the tumor as a very low-grade astrocytoma. He said his prognosis is “fairly good,” but because doctors cannot know whether any malignant cells remain, he will take daily medication for the rest of his life and undergo regular monitoring.
He also said he initially struggled with speech after surgery but is now off stronger pain medication and continuing his recovery at home.
The reality star has thanked fans, friends and his wife, Serena Pitt, for their support throughout the ordeal. Pitt has remained by his side and described the couple as taking recovery one day at a time.
Amabile is now focused on healing and staying positive, while his latest update offers reassurance to supporters following a frightening diagnosis and major brain operation.
