SANDRA BULLOCK opens up about BRYAN RANDALL's death

Wednesday, August 19, 2026 - Sandra Bullock has spoken publicly for the first time about the devastating loss of her longtime partner, Bryan Randall, who died in August 2023 at age 57 after a private three-year battle with ALS.

Speaking on the SmartLess podcast, the actress revealed that Randall had asked her not to share his diagnosis, leaving her largely isolated as she cared for him and protected his privacy.

Bullock said the experience was especially difficult during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she was caring for Randall while also raising their blended family. She explained that she began grieving years before his death as his physical and mental condition deteriorated.

Bullock said that by the time he died, she had already experienced a painful emotional separation, describing him as her “person” and saying that he had left long before his body did.

The actress eventually turned to a small circle of trusted people, including her sister Gesine Bullock-Prado and close friends Jennifer Aniston and Amanda Anka, for support. After Randall’s death, Bullock stepped away from the spotlight to focus on healing and her family.

Her emotional disclosure now offers a rare glimpse into the private struggle behind one of Hollywood’s most closely guarded losses, while showing the lasting impact of caring for someone through a devastating illness.
