Friday, October 2, 2026 - Ben Affleck is making it clear that romance is not at the top of his list right now.
While promoting his upcoming thriller Animals, the 54-year-old actor and filmmaker told Entertainment Tonight that he is focused on work and spending time with his three children. “It’s not a big priority in my life,” Affleck said, adding that he is not actively looking for a relationship.
Affleck also addressed recent speculation that he could have been set up with singer Shakira. He dismissed the story, saying he had never heard about the alleged setup and that he frequently hears rumors about his personal life.
Rather than chasing romance, Affleck said he is comfortable with where he is now and considers his children his top priority.
The actor’s comments come as he promotes Animals, which he co-wrote, directed and stars in alongside Kerry Washington, Steven Yeun and Gillian Anderson.
The film is scheduled to arrive on Netflix on October 9, giving Affleck plenty to focus on professionally as he keeps his personal life away from the spotlight. He remains open to whatever the future brings, but says he is “not trying to chase anything.”
