Friday, October 2, 2026 - Kathleen Turner has responded after Michael Douglas revealed that the two actors secretly became romantically involved while filming Romancing the Stone in 1984.
In an excerpt from his upcoming memoir, One Helluva Ride, Douglas said their relationship developed during production in Mexico while he was separated from his first wife, Diandra Luker, but still legally married.
Turner’s reaction has now added a new twist to the revelation that has quickly drawn attention. Responding to the disclosure, she reportedly said, “Good heavens what a fuss about something 40 years ago!” and added that she loves Michael and looks forward to reading his book. Her response suggests she is treating the revelation with warmth rather than turning it into a new dispute.
The revelation is gaining fresh attention because Douglas and Turner went on to work together again in The Jewel of the Nile and The War of the Roses, while continuing to deny that anything had happened between them.
Douglas now says those denials were intended to protect his family, while Turner has previously spoken publicly about the strong feelings and chemistry between them. With the memoir scheduled for release on October 6, 2026, more details could soon put their long-hidden Hollywood story back in the spotlight.
